Her Method

Andrea's goal is simple: Regardless of whether they have been singing for years or are just learning how to match pitch, every student who enters the studio will leave singing more confidently.

She focuses on teaching her students how to find their own vibrant, free vocal tone, while emphasizing breath support and control, as well as ear training and musicality. Voice lessons for all ages and experience levels are available.

Teaching Style

Ms. Frey specializes in teaching both classical voice and musical theater. Her extensive operatic training gives her the ability to teach and instill a solid foundation of healthy vocal technique into her students. She is also trained in belting pedagogy, and teaches healthy belting and belt-mix to students interested in pursuing musical theater. Most students will find that they are free to explore many different styles and genres of music during their vocal training.

While teaching privately at her home studio, Ms. Frey has also been the guest vocal coach for theater productions at various schools in the Seattle area. Her performance experience in opera, concert singing, musicals and straight theater has given her a great foundation for working with students who are interested in voice as well as theater.

Many of her students are involved with local choirs, community theater productions, and professional companies throughout the Seattle area. Students have worked with or are currently working with such groups as Broadway Bound, Youth Theatre Northwest, The 5th Avenue, Studio East, The Village Theater, The Driftwood Players, the UW Theater Program, Northwest Girlchoir, Seattle Girl's Choir, Northwest Boychoir, and Northwest Savoyards.

She is also a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and encourages students to participate in the yearly adjudications so they can gain experience singing in front of an audience.
